The lucky visitor who has elected to stay in Cumbuco, rather than the large city of Fortaleza is quick to feel the freedom and tranquility of strolling around the small village, mingling with the locals. Seeing at first hand, and becoming part of, the way of life of the '"real" Brazil. Though there is little foreign languages spoken, the international "hand and feet" dialect is widely used, which adds to the charm of Cumbuco. At the center of the village is the praçinha (town square). Surrounding this are many shops, snack bars, restaurants, small supermarkets. Quieter, cleaner, prettier...
Cumbuco is a cosy little town: quieter, prettier and cleaner than the larger, more commercial towns and cities. Here you have plenty of time to enjoy life and get to know the locals. Not that you will ever get bored: not with so many activities during the day, and so many bars and restaurants for an evening out. There is a truly Hispanic feel to the town, plus a warmth and friendliness that soothe the soul.
