Hi

Brazil 'has enchanted international investors'

Brazil is continuing to remain popular among international investors, perhaps including those considering purchasing property in Fortaleza and other north eastern resorts.

This is according to Gustavo Franco, a central bank director, who told Bloomberg that Brazil is looking better in every economic aspect than it has in the 15 years since the introduction of the real.

"There's a degree of enchantment among international investors with the Brazilian economy," he commented.

Anyone hoping to buy property in Brazil may therefore wish to act now if they want to secure good prices.

The real has rallied in recent months, seeing its biggest ever quarterly advance between April and June 2009.

In related news, a central bank survey has predicted that the Brazilian economy will only shrink by 0.5 per cent this year before returning to 3.5 per cent growth in 2010.

Luiz Fernando Figueiredo, the founder of Sao Paulo-based Maua Investimentos, said that the country's economy is recovering better than had been expected.

The government set its 2011 inflation target at 4.5 per cent this week, unaltered from 2008.
