Brazil 'is attracting European investment'

Brazil is becoming an increasingly important place to invest for people living in Europe.

This is according to corporate communications consultant Ciro Dias Reis, who said in an interview with EurActiv that Brazil is now seeing the west not only as a place to export goods, but as somewhere from which to attract investors, perhaps including those considering buying property in Brazil.

He pointed out that many multinational companies have now expanded and have premises in the Latin American country, while private investors are encouraged to take their assets there due to the stable conditions in its banking sector.

Not only this, but Brazil is producing its own wealth thanks to self-sufficiency in resources such as ethanol, so its residents are experiencing a growth in disposable income.

This is likely to attract foreign investors still further, Mr Dias Reis said.

Earlier this month, Mark O'Sullivan of Currencies Direct said that for those who have available finances, preferably without needing a mortgage, now could be an ideal time to step in and buy foreign property, as prices are falling.

Property in Joao Pessoa - in Brazil's north east - could offer good returns, thanks to its scenic beaches and lively nightlife for younger travellers.
