JP Morgan confirms opportunities for investment in Brazil
JP Morgan Asset Management is to give people the chance to make an investment in Brazil by launching a trust fund.
It will be the first venture of its kind based in the UK and will open up avenues for investors in the Latin American country.
The fund will be managed by Sebastian Luparia and Luis Carillo, with an initial target of £50 million to be invested in between 25 and 50 firms.
Mr Luparia said making an investment in Brazil is an exciting opportunity for JP Morgan.
"Since it achieved investment grade in April 2008 it has transformed from inflationary boom-bust cycles. 2009 stress tested this when the country experienced a normal recession with a swift recovery," he commented.
Making an investment in Brazil is currently seen as a good option as the country is set to receive a boost in tourism over the coming years.
Brazil is to host both the football World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016, with increased numbers of holidaymakers expected to visit the country.
