Telecoms firms could make investment in Brazil
Making an investment in Brazil could become a more attractive option for telecommunications companies after demand for the services in the country was described as "strong" in a new report.
The study from Companiesandmarkets.com stated that although Brazil is already the largest market for operators in South America, more and more people in the Latin American country were looking to install broadband facilities in their homes.
It said broadband operators were struggling to keep up with the increasing demand, so it may be a good time for companies to make an investment in Brazil to improve the services on offer.
"Two major factors have inhibited the growth of broadband in Brazil: shortage of fixed-line infrastructure, and broadband prices, which are too high for the Brazilian socio-economic environment," the report stated.
This comes after Spanish telecommunications company Telefonica announced that it will make an investment of $1.27 billion (£819 million) in the country this year to benefit its range of services.
