World Cup and Olympics 'attracting tourists to Brazil'
People investing in property in Rio to let out to tourists may be pleased to hear that international travel to the city is on the increase.
A recent study by Brazilian Tourism Board Embratur showed that eight per cent more overseas visitors landed in the area in 2010 compared with the previous year.
Director of the Brazilian Tourist Office UK Chris Fuzinatto explained that the fact the country is to hold two major sporting events is attracting the attention of tourists and the media.
In 2014, the nation will hold the World Cup across several different stadiums, while the 2016 Olympic Games will be hosted by Rio de Janeiro.
"Tourists are recognising how diverse Brazil is as a destination," Mr Fuzinatto stated, adding that an increase in the number of flights to the country is also making it more accessible to foreign travellers.
"Rio is seen as a must-have part of any Brazil itinerary due to its incredible iconic sights," the expert continued.
