Affordable housing projects, such as Minha Casa Minha Vida (My House, My Life), will be "the next area of growth" in the Brazilian property market.
This is according to a new report from analyst RNCOS, which predicted the expansion of the country's housing sector in recent times is likely to continue.
The company's Brazil Housing Sector Analysis noted that the nation has the highest proportion of demand for affordable housing projects compared with other emerging economies such as China and India.
Due to the number of people looking to purchase homes in Brazil, there is now a shortfall, with the report stating the country's growing middle class demographic is more likely to opt for low-cost units than luxury abodes.
According to RNCOS's recently released Brazil Automobile Forecast to 2013, Brazil's car-making industry is also booming, growing to be the sixth largest automobile production sector the world.
