People looking for Brazilian property to expatriate need to be realistic with their expectations of their new life abroad.
This is the opinion of Rhinanon Davies, director of Shelter Offshore, who warned that moving overseas does not automatically afford emigrants a better quality of living.
"People need to know that the grass isn't always greener abroad," she explained. "They need to think carefully about the legitimacy of their dreams of their new life."
While it may be true that pressures will still exist for those who move into Brazilian property, recent research suggests that the vast majority of expats feel they made the right decision when they left the UK.
The new Happiness Index from Post Office International Payments found 70 per cent of emigrants say they are very pleased with their new life, with 60 per cent claiming there was a greater sense of community in the place where they had settled compared with Britain.
However, Ms Davies cautioned that those moving abroad should be prepared for some of the stressors in their current position to remain, as they will still need to be able to buy food and find jobs.
