People considering commercial investment in Brazil may be interested to know that one oil company has said it expects the country to lead its growth.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Helge Lund, chief executive officer of Norwegian firm Staloil said the business has "several exciting prospects" based in the Latin American country as well as Norway, Africa and the Gulf of Mexico.
"In the short term, the biggest growth will come from Brazil," the news provider quoted him as saying.
The company has a presence in 40 nations and employs 29,000 people across the globe.
It has total control over the Peregrino field off the coast of Rio de Janeiro and, on its website, described the country as "an attractive and stable investment environment".
"Our strategy is over time to have more operatorships outside of Norway," Mr Lund told the information source, saying Staloil will be focusing on expansion through acquisitions, partnerships and new explorations.
