A growing number of overseas property buyers are expressing interest in the Brazilian market, it has been revealed.
According to currency specialist HiFX, the South American country is rapidly emerging as a popular location among investors.
Figures showed that the number of enquiries regarding Brazil during June was one per cent up on the amount recorded a month earlier.
This was said to have coincided with declining levels of interest in traditional investment markets, such as Italy and Spain.
Mark Bodega, director at HiFX, commented: "Investors are always looking for the 'next big thing' to try and tap into undeveloped markets."
He added that most of the interest is coming from investment buyers rather than people who want a holiday home for lifestyle purposes.
This comes after Property Secrets said it is "unsurprising" that overseas property investors are looking for returns in fast-growing emerging markets.
