British people may wish to buy property in Brazil after the results of a recent survey.
The Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (Afire), based in the US, found Brazilian property to be second in the world in terms of capital appreciation, which is likely to be excellent news for those who have already purchased property there.
In the corresponding survey for the fourth quarter of 2008, China occupied second place, but the Asian country has now fallen sharply while confidence in Brazil has only grown.
Afire pointed out that more investors are now realising the potential of the Latin American country and its prime areas for property development, including the north east.
It added that that the tendency for capital appreciation on investments is likely to increase further in the future.
One of the most respected property investment research organisations, Afire is recognised as the official voice of the foreign property investment industry in the US.
Gustavo Franco, a central bank director, recently told Bloomberg that Brazil now looks better economically than at any other time since the real was introduced 15 years ago.
"There's a degree of enchantment among international investors with the Brazilian economy," he added.
Meanwhile, the New York Times has predicted that north east Brazil will benefit from a real estate boom in the coming months, benefiting both foreign and local property investors.
It tipped areas such as Recife to undergo a surge in buying activity thanks to their wealth from locally-produced commodities, as well as increased interest in their highlights from a tourist perspective abroad.
For people looking to buy property in Brazil, an investment in Salvador through Property Bond International could be a good option.
The destination is becoming increasingly popular with travellers and the media, so apartments and hotels could provide excellent returns.
Salvador - once known as Holy Saviour of All Saints Bay - is a city on the north eastern coast of Brazil and is the capital of the state of Bahia.
It is popular for its excellent food, music and architecture, while its African history is also evident to travellers as they walk around its streets.
There are also a number of carnivals which take place throughout the year, allowing visitors to experience exciting different cultures.
