Individuals and companies looking to make an investment in Brazil's motor industry could be spurred on to do so by the latest figures from its National Motor Vehicle Distribution Federation.
The organisation - known as Fenabrave - revealed that auto sales in the Latin American country reached an all-time high in 2009.
Over the last 12 months, more than 3.14 million cars were sold, an increase of 11.35 per cent from volumes recorded in 2008.
In particular, Fenabrave noted that December 2009 was a strong month for the auto industry with 293,000 vehicles sold, up 16.4 per cent from November and a rise of more than 50 per cent year-on-year.
Those considering making an investment in Brazil could be further encouraged by news that sales have now increased for the last three years.
According to forecasts from finance minister Guido Mantega, investment in Brazil will be 15 per cent higher in 2010 than it was last year, the Latin American Herald Tribune reported.
