Brazil is to take part in a meeting today (June 16th) which could lead to it having greater influence on the world's political stage.
Representatives from the Latin American country, including president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, are to meet with leaders from Russia, India and China in a bid to discuss pressing world issues and potential ways to resolve them, those interested in Brazilian property may be interested to hear.
According to the BBC, Russia's finance minister Alexei Kudrin said the conference will focus on the reform of international financial institutions and could lead to more regular interaction between the four countries.
Brazil, Russia, India and China, collectively known as BRIC countries, account for 15 per cent of global finances and US investment bank Goldman Sachs has suggested that they could have some of the strongest economies in the world by 2050.
"Emerging countries are making a huge contribution to save the economy and, consequently, save the rich countries," said Mr Lula da Silva to Reuters.
Earlier this month, Mr Lula da Silva told RIA Novosti that the amount that Brazil traded with Russia, India and China rose by nearly 500 per cent between 2003 and 2008 to $49 billion (£29.9 billion).
