In what could be good news for those purchasing property in Brazil, the country's economy is perfectly positioned to benefit from the global shake-up that has occurred since the recession began.
According to James Dowey of Neptune Investment Management, writing for the Telegraph, emerging economies will become the main benefactors of a shift away from reliance on US capital and borrowing over the next few months.
"Brazil's investment potential is second to none, but it needs more capital," he opined, adding that the world will look to emerging economies as a more sustainable investment vehicle.
Earlier this month, the Central Bank of Brazil revealed that Foreign Direct Investment in the Latin American country reached record levels in May, with a figure of $2.48 billion (£1.53 billion) in the production sector.
This was the highest ever recorded and almost double that seen in May 2008 as more investors began to see Brazil as a safe haven.
