Tourism authorities in Brazil are set to promote its various attractions in China during the forthcoming Olympic Games.
Casa Brasil plans to stage a number of promotional events in Beijing throughout the sporting spectacle in order to raise the country's international profile, reports Brazzil Mag.
This will form part of its efforts to win an upcoming Olympic bid, as it hopes to stage the competition in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
The organisation hopes this will also boost tourism in the South American country, as well as trade with China.
Luiz Baretto, Brazil's tourism minister, commented: "Our target is to show Brazil to those who do not know the country."
He added that the nation offers a number of attractions, such as natural beauty, high technology industries and a strong global export market.
Brazil is already due to attract international attention when it hosts the football World Cup in 2014.
This will be only the second time that Brazil has hosted the tournament and the first World Cup to be staged in South America since 1978.
