Brazilian property is a popular investment opportunity, it has been claimed, with many people attracted by the country's strengthening economy.
Paul Collins, editor at real estate magazine BuyAssociation, explained that the nation's gross domestic product (GDP) is on the rise, while the tourism industry is also expected to perform well.
Indeed, the country's Office for Geography and Statistics recently reported that GDP grew 1.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2011, resulting in a year-on-year increase of 4.2 per cent.
"[Brazil] is one of the top investment destinations at the moment for overseas property," the expert said.
"The opportunities for inbound tourism and to rent out anything that you might buy [are] very, very strong," he added.
Mr Collins noted that Brazil's economy is predicted to be the fifth largest in the world by the time the country has hosted the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.
This suggests that the nation's expansion is stable, he argued, stating that fiscal policy has successfully mitigated the effects of the global recession.
