People seeking opportunities for commercial investment in Brazil may be interested to know that employment is rising in the country.
According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, over 691,000 jobs have been created in the nation this year.
This constitutes a 3.2 per cent increase in the 12 months from August 2009, raising the number of people in work to 22.1 million.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate dropped 1.4 per cent last month compared with the same period last year to the lowest level since records began in 2002.
People are also earning an increasing amount of money in Brazil, with the average real income per worker rising to R$1,472.10 (£545.67) in August from R$1,451.91 the previous month.
Salaries are up 1.4 per cent since July and 5.5 per cent over the last 12 months, while the volume of real average income grew to R$32.9 billion - 8.8 per cent higher than in August 2009.
The same body recently reported that investment in Brazil increased in the second quarter of 2010, seeing gross domestic product expand 1.2 per cent in comparison to the first three months of the year.
