Property in Rio de Janeiro could be rented out to travellers passing through the city, as one expert has suggested that adventurous visitors are likely to be attracted to the area.

Marco Lomanto, products and destinations director at Brazilian Tourist Board Embratur, explained that the region can offer a lot to people with a "zest for life".

"In one trip a tourist can see the rainforest and the beaches as well as enjoying Michelin-starred food and celebrations," he explained.

Some of the attractions the city offers include the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, Sugarloaf Mountain, world famous beaches like Copacabana or Ipanema and Tijuca National Park.

The specialist said that Rio de Janeiro has always been "one of the main cultural centres" in Brazil, with plenty of things going on to attract travellers, including New Year's Eve festivities, Carnival and the work of Oscar Niemeyer - a celebrated architect.

One less fortunate feature the city is known for is its favelas, but investors may be encouraged to hear that police raids are being undertaken to chase out drug barons and regenerate the slums, which is having a positive effect on property values in the surrounding area, according to a recent BBC report.

Property Bond International Ltd was established in 2003 to help overseas buyers purchase Brazilian Property Investments. A free personal search service is also offered whereby clients specify exact requirements and properties are searched for. Property Bond also offer a consultancy service for clients or businesses wishing to enter into Brazil to make contact with product suppliers or purchase other investments, rent offices. - see www.brazilianassets.comADNFCR-1477-ID-800619970-ADNFCR
