People seeking hotels for sale in Brazil may be encouraged to know attendees at the recent South American Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference were optimistic about the country's potential.
According to Hotel News Now, inn chain Marriott is planning to increase its presence in the nation.
Laurent de Kousemaeker, chief development officer for the Caribbean and Latin American Region for Marriott and Ritz-Carlton, told the news provider the firm was attracted by economic growth in the region.
"There are millions of Brazilians moving from one class to another ... When you think about 20 million people, that's a huge market," he said.
With 15 hotels already in the pipeline in South America, the company wants to establish a limited-service brand in Brazil over the coming five years, the information source noted.
There may be more hotels for sale in Brazil as the World Cup approaches, as UK and Ireland director at the Brazilian Tourist Office Glauco Chris Fuzinatto recently said he expected a "frenzy of excitement" ahead of the tournament.
