Those hoping to make an investment, for example in property, have been advised that emerging markets are the places to look.
According to an article by Full Circle Asset Management, published by Money Week, these economies are to accelerate ahead of the west in the coming years after bottoming out in October last year.
Meanwhile, the economies of developed countries only bottomed out in March and so will continue to feel the effects of the recession for some time.
Consequently, property in Brazil could be the perfect vehicle for asset investment.
"Their standards of living will rise rapidly whilst ours will be curtailed. It is like moving a huge pile of bricks from one side of the garden to the other," the article states.
It concluded that the best opportunities for investment in the future will be in emerging markets and those closely associated with them.
Earlier this month, corporate communications consultant Ciro Dias Reis told EurActiv that Brazil is increasingly attracting investors from Europe as it continues along its journey towards development.
