Environment 'potentially ideal' for investment in Brazil

The environment could be perfect for investment in Brazil, one expert has said, as the country grows rapidly and fears of inflation decrease.
Co-manager of the USD2bn HSBC GIF Brazil Equity Fund Jose Cuervo described the nation as a "sweet spot" for speculators.
"The domestic economy is growing fast, but not so fast that inflation is getting out of control," he noted. "This is a potentially ideal economic and investment environment."
Philip Pool, global head of macro and investment strategy at HSBC Global Asset Management, suggested the calmness of Brazil's markets as the October presidential election approaches was an indication of the success of political and economic policies implemented by the current administration.
Investors should have confidence in the current landscape for speculators in Brazil, he added.
Dilma Rousseff, who is being backed by president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, is leading the race for the leadership of the nation.
According to a recent poll conducted by Sensus, the candidate won 50.5 per cent of voters' support last week.
