A new racing track investment in Florianopolis will be the site of Formula One superstar Felipe Massa's return to competitive motorsport.
The Ferrari driver will take part in the annual International Challenge of the Stars karting event in the Southern state of Santa Catarina, lining up on the grid alongside household names like seven-time Formula One World Drivers' Championship winner Michael Schumacher.
His competition will also include Force India racer Vitantonio Liuzzi, Antonio Pizzonia and fellow Brazilians Rubens Barrichello and Nelson Piquet.
Piquet, the ex-Renault driver at the centre of the race fixing scandal which has seen his former team principal Flavio Briatore receive a lifetime ban from Formula One, said he expected the charity event to be a tight race.
"It's going to be very competitive as usual, there are some great drivers confirmed and I want to try to win it this year," he commented.
Previous victors in the Florianopolis event are Massa himself, who took the spoils in 2006 and Michael Schumacher, who crossed the line in first in 2007.
