The government is to make an investment in Brazil of about £370 billion.
Dilma Rousseff, chief minister to president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, will announce the government plans to invest in the country's infrastructure if it wins another term in office.
Ms Rousseff is standing for the presidency in October and laying out the proposals for the investment in Brazil will be one of her last actions before stepping down from her current post, reports the Financial Times.
It is the latest attempt to start the programme of investment in the country's infrastructure, with £186 billion of work planned for between 2007 and 2010.
However, half of the projects outlined in those plans are still to get underway.
This comes after minister of cities Marcio Fortes stated that Mr Lula da Silva is planning to extend subsidies in the My Home, My Life social housing programme in order to help more people buy property in Brazil.
