Many people decide to pack up and leave their country for a better life abroad and those searching for a new home in the Brazilian property market could look forward to living in a less-pressured culture.
Danielle Carter moved to the Latin American nation from Kansas City, Missouri, to study in a new environment and spoke to online portal for expatriates Gringoes.com about her experiences.
The 21-year-old grew up and went to university in the same area of the US but wanted a change and decided to move to Brazil after visiting Rio de Janeiro and falling in love with the country.
She told the news provider her favourite thing about the nation was the way individuals treat each other.
"The generosity, kindness, and warmth," the student stated. "The people here are always willing to help."
Ms Carter also enjoys the pace of life in Brazil, which is more relaxed than the culture she was brought up in.
"People here work to live and not live to work," she explained, describing the population as "generally more helpful and generally more social" than in the US.
It seems Brazilians have also noticed similar differences in lifestyle, as Rebecca Carvalho of Recife, who now works as a journalist in California, told the information portal people in her culture sit down for an hour to enjoy lunch, while people in her new home seem to work and eat at the same time.
