Investment in Brazil could be set to improve as the country increases its presence on the global stage with a new international television station.
The channel is being broadcast in Africa and is aimed at strengthening ties with the continent, but it will also be available in Europe, the US, Canada and Latin America, the BBC reports.
James Read, BBC Americas editor, said TV Brasil Internacional is the latest move by the nation to boost its image as an emerging economy.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva noted that the project will represent Brazil around the world.
"I don't want a TV channel to speak well of Lula," he explained. "I want a channel that speaks well of the country, that can show Brazil as it really is."
Yesterday (May 26th), President Lula greeted the Brazil World Cup team before it set off for South Africa for the 2010 tournament.
