Investment in Natal is planned by the Brazilian government, which is to plough $18.7 billion (£11.88 billion) into improving its infrastructure in preparation for the World Cup.
The nation's minister of sports Orlando Silva Jr said during a tele-conference that $6.5 billion is dedicated to developing monorail lines, light rail transit systems, terminals, subways and other forms of transportation.
Stadiums in host cities Natal, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Manaus and Culaba are already under construction, while the other six arenas are currently under the bidding process, Xinhua reported.
"We are focusing on sustainable development, which will not only result in a successful World Cup but also improve the country for the Brazilian people," Mr Silva said.
Between the 12 host cities, the resources will go toward 50 projects, with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development dedicating $556 million to fund the hotel sector, including remodelling projects and new ventures, the news provider noted.
The federal government has predicted the tournament will generate $104 billion for Brazil, Xinhua stated.
According to the official FIFA website, the Confederacao Brasileira de Futebol was founded in 1914 and has been affiliated with the body since 1923.
