People seeking opportunities for investment in Rio de Janeiro may be interested to hear that the procurement team for the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) has offered assistance to Brazil, according to Supply Management magazine.
Procurement director at LOCOG Gerry Walsh said his department had sent a pack detailing the policies they used for their buying activities to their counterparts in the nation in a speech at a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Fellows’ Event.
“The Brazilians were delighted with that pack and they are now seeking a procurement director," the publication quoted him as saying.
Brazil will be hosting the games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and Mr Walsh revealed the work completed by CIPS would be made available to the organisers of the event as a source of information.
It was recently reported that mayor of Rio de Janeiro Eduardo Paes would request permission to issue $500 million (£310 million) of bonds to raise cash for the Olympics.
