JPMorgan's investment in Brazil has performed well, with experts suggesting the next five years will see growth in the country.
The asset management bank reported that its overall return on net assets over the last 12 months was 11.7 per cent or 10.6 per cent diluted.
"We have seen strong investment performance since launch," chairman of the board of JPMorgan Brazil Investment Trust Howard Myles stated.
Indeed, ordinary shareholders saw a return of 9.3 per cent over the last year and those owning units – five normal shares and one subscription share - saw 12.4 per cent.
Furthermore, JPMorgan expects to see a continuation of this strong performance, with Brazilian growth spanning the next half a decade.
"Overall the portfolio reflects our view that the next five years will be about domestic growth and we exploit this by being significantly different to the benchmark," fund managers Luis Carrillo and Sebastian Luparia stated.
In the last year, the trust has superseded the performance of Brazilian index the Bovespa, which returned 5.3 per cent.
It seems the asset management firm is optimistic about the opportunities for investors in the Latin American country, as chief executive for JPMorgan in the nation Claudio Berquo recently told the Financial Times that the bank aims to increase its headcount in the country from 630 to up to 2,500.
The firm operates in more than 250 countries across the world and employs around 115,000 people.
