Brazilian affordable housing projects, such as Minha Casa Minha Vida (My House My Life), will be extended under new president Dilma Rousseff.
This is the opinion of Flavio Cabrera of Lopes Real Estate Consultants, who told Property Wire having the Workers Party in government is "the best thing that could have happened" for the country's construction industry.
Speaking of Minha Casa Minha Vida and other such initiatives, the expert said: "It is certain that the scope of these programmes will continue to grow and assist the real estate market in a major way."
Ms Rousseff was voted into office on October 31st and succeeds popular former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who brought the Workers Party to government in 2002.
As the administration has been kept in power, the Brazilian property market could grow for at least another decade, the specialist stated.
However, Roberto Pimenta of Patrimovel Real Estate in Rio de Janeiro argued the sector is so strong, its expansion would have continued regardless of which party took office.
For anyone wishing to invest in the full potential of Brazil's affordable housing market, Property Bond Brazil work closely with local developers to develop affordable housing projects. Due to the demand in this sector, developers are currently looking for new investors to work with them to aid expansion plans.
