The rate of development of new inns in Latin America's largest economy is strong, it has been reported, which may mean there may be an increasing number of hotels for sale in Brazil.
Speaking to GlobeSt.com, president of Lodging Econometrics Patrick Ford explained that the country's leisure industry is gearing up for when the nation hosts the World Cup in 2014 and the 2016 Olympic Games.
He stated that the sporting events will be a "tremendous coup for Brazil", adding that they are "greatly boosting the intensity for growth".
Lodging Econometrics, which measures the hotel industry, showed in its first-quarter report that the pace at which inns are being built in the country has risen to the levels achieved before the recession, with construction projects up 40 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Mr Ford's company was launched in 1995 and monitors activity in 162 markets across the US.
