The number of people retiring to live in Brazilian property could increase, as one expert has said individuals are becoming more adventurous when they look for overseas real estate in their old age.
Maria Johnston, director at Retirement Today, explained that moving abroad has always been popular for older generations who have left work to enjoy their later years.
"It's something that has always been there and always will be there," she said. "People do want sunshine, they do want a better standard of living, they do want a utopia and they're always going to look for it."
However, there may be an increase in the number of individuals looking for overseas retirement homes, as Brits are travelling more.
While France and Spain may be the traditional destinations for expats, the fact that people are seeing more of the world has meant that they are considering moving to countries further away, Ms Johnston said.
Her comments follow an announcement from AXA Wealth International that it had launched a range of tax intelligence documents aimed at those hoping to retire overseas.
