A new campaign designed to showcase Brazil as a tourist destination around the world was launched this week in New York.

Brazil. Sensational! is part of the Brazilian Tourist Board's strategy to demonstrate just how much the country has to offer to foreigners, from golf courses to beaches.

Last year, 700,000 holidaymakers made the trip to Brazil from the US alone, according to Brazzil Magazine.

This is perhaps why the country, along with England and ten other nations from the Americas and Europe, are to be the focus of the campaign, which runs until June 2009.

Luiz Barretto, Brazil's tourism minister, explained the motive behind Brazil. Sensational!.

"We want to share the beauty and wonders of Brazil with more tourists, encourage them to stay longer and become acquainted with new places," he remarked.

The campaign comes as the Brazilian Central Bank reveals that $5.25 billion of foreign direct investment has entered the country so far this year, Brazzil reports.ADNFCR-1477-ID-18794098-ADNFCR
