Although many people heading to Brazil opt to go to destinations such as Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo for their summer holidays, these are not necessarily the best places to go if holidaymakers want the best weather as well as beautiful scenery.
This is the advice of Laura Rendell-Dunn of Journey Latin America, who said that Brazil is a huge country with much to see and tourists should not simply stick to the well-trodden paths.
She also pointed out that British people take their holidays in summer (July and August), which is actually winter in Brazil and that the more southern regions are likely to be cooler then.
"You would be better off travelling to the north east of Brazil where the temperature is 25 to 30 degrees all year round," Ms Rendell-Dunn advised.
The expert went on to say that people from the UK should make the most of the 2014 Fifa World Cup tournament being hosted in Brazil and should travel there to take in the matches as well as everything else the Latin American country has to offer.
"It is a perfect opportunity to get out to Brazil and do some travelling around or combine it with a beach holiday ," she added.
Earlier this month, Travel Weekly reported figures from the Brazilian Tourist Board which showed that people already seem to be taking Ms Rendell-Dunn's advice.
More than 181,000 people from the UK visited Brazil in 2008, an increase over the 177,000 in 2007 as people sought to get more adventurous with their holidays.
January, February and March were the most popular months, suggesting that people are doing their research before jetting off in order to make the most of their hard-earned two weeks in the sun.
Commenting, Ms Rendell-Dunn said that Salvador in Brazil's north east could be the perfect destination for Brits who want more than the usual package tour.
Indeed, Salvador is also known as Brazil's capital of happiness thanks to its easygoing population and outdoor parties, including its street carnival. It also has a massive 50 kilometres of beaches, making it ideal for swimming, sailing, diving, surfing and underwater fishing - or simply sunbathing for tourists who prefer not to take to the water.
According to the Guardian in 2007, Porto da Barra Beach was the 3rd best in the world.
