Foreign property investors could benefit from capital appreciation in Brazil, according to industry experts.

A Place in the Sun magazine revealed that interest in the north-east of the country is growing, which in turn is fuelling increases in house prices.

Therefore, investors who enter the market early may be able to snap up a bargain residence which will quickly appreciate in value.

Richard Way, editor of the magazine, commented: "Last year, they reckon Brazilian property prices rose between ten and 15 per cent.

"It would be a good investment for now."

Mr Way added that the South American country also offers a variety of lifestyle attractions, such as good beaches, year-round sunshine and a relaxed way of life.

This comes after BuyAssociation recommended Brazil to investors who are looking for a bargain overseas.

According to the website, the country is increasingly attracting people who want "a more permanent base" abroad.
