International investors should consider Brazil as a potential spot to buy, an industry expert has said.
Writing in the Times, Susan Emmett suggested that many people had not considered the South American nation a property investment spot in the past, but added that this perception was now changing.
In particular, Ms Emmett said that property prices in Brazil had been rising quickly as a result of "a burgeoning middle class, preparations for the 2014 football World Cup and a growing number of foreign investors".
She said that most property investors were considering developments in the North-East of the country as this area "has the best year-round weather and some of the most beautiful beaches".
"The most popular hotspot is Natal, the state capital of Rio Grande do Norte, on the eastern tip of South America. The property boom will be given a boost with the expansion of Natal airport, to be completed in a couple of years," Ms Emmett explained.
She concluded by pointing out that prices in some of the most popular developments in the North-East had increased by 25 per cent in the last year.
