An overseas property expert has said that it is vital people buying in places like Brazil only invest in "quality" developments if they hope to generate significant profits.
Paul Collins, editor of independent advice publication the BuyAssociation, explained that property markets tended to be cyclical but that people buying property in Brazil and other emerging markets could insulate themselves by picking high-quality homes that were likely to remain desirable in the future.
Mr Collins explained that investors could always look to support their property through rental incomes if prices did slip at any point.
However, he stressed that sensible investment in Brazil and other nations would ensure profits could be generated.
"With overseas property
there are some great deals put there at the moment," Mr Collins said.
"Make sure you are investing in quality property. Quality property in any market will always sell well because it is the most desirable - it's what people want.
"If you can find a good deal on a top-class development that's in a really good position then you will do well in most markets."
Recently, the Telegraph suggested that fears about the slowing economy in the UK were making some people consider property in Brazil and other foreign countries.
