The recession is turning Britain into a nation of savvy travellers, with more people thinking about how they can save money on their breaks.
This is according to Jonathan Mitcham of Which? Holiday, who said that peoples' priorities are changing in terms of destinations, with well-priced flights and countries proving more popular.
For people who own property in Brazil, particularly in the popular and scenic north east, this could lead to more bookings in the coming months from travellers looking for holiday accommodation.
"People are naturally more affected by the impact of the recession. For many, money is tighter than last year," pointed out Mr Mitcham.
Despite Brazil being a long-haul destination, it may be cheaper than many eurozone countries at present, thanks to currency exchange rates.
A number of companies are also offering cheap flights, as Sean Tipton of the Association of British Travel Agents commented earlier this year.
He said that this reduction in cost is encouraging people to get more adventurous on their breaks.
