People considering making an investment in Brazil have been advised to wait until the second half of the year.
BNP Paribas analyst Julien Duprat told Citywire inflation in some emerging markets is likely to drop in six months' time.
"At that point, investors are likely to radically shift from top-down, short-term, anti-tightening allocations to nvestments that more reflect the medium-term earnings growth security," he said.
BNP Paribas believes Brazil is likely to be a favourite among investors once inflation has dipped, the information source reported.
Mr Duprat said the long-term situation for Latin America's largest economy is "very strong".
Non-food inflation is already beginning to decrease in the Bric countires (Brazil, Russia, India and China), the expert noted, predicting headline inflation figures would peak quickly then drop.
Brazil may be the best option for investors out of the Bric nations, as practice leader of Frontier Strategy Group's Quantitative Analytics Matt Lasov recently told MarketWatch the Latin American territory was better insulated against global financial crises than its peers.
