A new report has linked tourism with foreign investment in Brazil.
The macauhub news agency reported that the Brazil-Portugal Chamber in the state of Ceara looked at how many Portuguese companies had invested in the area since 2003.
It found that a total of 240 companies had been set up by Portugese nationals in the state in the last five years.
Interestingly, the report showed that there was an important link between tourism and investment in Ceara.
The research also highlighted the fact "that real estate tourism and the energy sector continued to be the most important sectors in terms of investment", the news agency explained.
Recently, brazzilmag.com noted that Brazil's tourist agency had launched a drive to try to better promote the country as a tourist destination.
He said that the initiative would look to "expand the flow of foreigners into Brazil". This could mean that more people end up considering investment in Ceara and other areas of the country in the future.
