People seeking Brazilian property to purchase should spend a significant period of time visiting the Latin American country.
This is the opinion of Rhiannon Davies, director at Shelter Offshore, who recommended that potential expats should stay in the nation they plan to move to outside of its peak tourist season before making a decision to buy.
By doing so, people will get a better idea of what living in the country is like, with the expert stating there are many factors emigrants need to consider before they move abroad.
These include making sure they will be entitled to work in the nation where they are planning to live and that they will be able to find a job.
"They need to think about ease of integration and whether that will be impacted because of language or cultural barriers," she continued, adding: "They certainly need to consider healthcare and affording decent treatment."
Her comments follow those of Paul Collins, editor at BuyAssociation, who recently advised people to make sure they do plenty of research before moving abroad in order to prepare for potential risks like a decline in house prices and political or social unrest.
